Traditionally wedding rings are a great way for a couple to show their love for each other and to the world. Today, a new twist is being added to the tradition of the exchange of wedding rings along with the exchange of vows, and that is the exchange of wedding ring tattoos.
Although this may be a recent trend in modern society, history tells us that tattoos on the fingers were a common sight among the ancient Egyptians who wore these tattoos to ward off evil spirits. It is also pretty symbolic of the permanence that all couples are hoping for their relationship. Tattooed wedding rings are also becoming more popular among couples who cannot afford a wedding ring, and for same-sex couples who want a way to show their love for each other to the world. There is a way to avoid the bad memories when looking at a wedding ring tattoo from a relationship which ended in a divorce. Even if the relationship ended and you both went your separate ways, the relationship is something that you learned from and enriched your life. It was an important stepping stone to future, more fulfilling relationships, which is why you can still look at that wedding ring tattoo on your finger and not be filled with sad or bitter memories. And after all, you can always cover a tattooed wedding ring with the real one.
